P2P 2014

Our 5th Port 2 Point Fundraising event was a huge success! The NEW OM would like to thank everybody that showed up for the ride and lunch. The NEW OM would also like to thank our event sponsors for hooking us up with awesome swag (Broken Spoke, Bike n Fit, Heavy Pedal and The Fitness Store).

We had about 30 peeps that went our ride.

More peeps joined us for lunch.

We had about 25 adults and kids try our O'beater Meter Challange.

Swag from our Sponsors....good stuff.

After all the money donated and pizza's paid for we walke away from this event with $515. This was by far our best P2P yet.

Thanks again to everyone that came out and we hope to see you next year.....or maybe this summer?

5th Annual Port 2 Point Fund-raiser

WOW!!! This year will be our 5th Annual Port 2 Point Fund-Raiser. Come on out for the social ride or just join us for some pizza and a good time. And of course....we will have the O'Beater Meter Challange. What is the O'Beater Meter Challange? Well..we have a beat up old bike on a trainer and hooked up to a computer. We have a set speed, once you get to that speed, try to hold it as long as you can ( peeps get broken after about 15 secs). Person with the longest time wins.

Hope to see ya there! -The NEW OM

2014 NEW OM Jersey and Shorts

This year we are going to do a run of 2 different style Jerseys. Order date is not set yet, I'm thinking we will place an order by the end of Feb. All orders must be paid in full by order date.

And this year...We are going to try to get local businesses to sponsor our club. The sponsoring business will have there logo placed on the back of our jersey along with a link on our website and a plaque that they can hang up stating that they are proud sponsors on The NEW OM. We will have paperwork soon that we can present to business owners for this sponsorship. Please contact Wade @ 920.905.2809 if you would like to be a sponsor or to help out gaining sponsors for our club. thanks!

SNOW TRAIL is Open at Camp Vits

We have a dedicated group of people that worked very hard at grooming the snow trails at Camp Vits. This snow trail is on the same route as the single track trail. Near the last 1/4 of the snow trail, it routes itself back up to the main single track ( the snow trail is not on the singel track 100%). Please only use snowbikes and snow shoes on the snow trail. Hiking and Mountain Biking will damage the groomed snow trail. To enjoy this trail, you will still need to park on W Custer. Please come out and have a winter adventure at Camp Vits.

We are all excited to have a trail in the city of Manitowoc. Please respect The NEW OM's #1 Trail Rule.

The NEW OM worked very hard to build the trails at Maribel Caves and Camp Vits. It is even harder to fix trails that have been destroyed by user impact.

How can you tell if a trail is too wet to ride?
1 - if you lay down your bike on a wide turn.
2 - You have mud in your mouth.
3 - You are leaving a rut.
4 - it's raining....DUH!
5 - you have a brown strip going "up" your back

Please respect ALL trails! thanks! -The NEW OM-

Manitowoc has a MOUNTAIN BIKING TRAIL!!!!

This past weekend the City of Manitowoc and The NEW OM celebrated the Grand Opening of the Camp Vits MTB Trail system. This is the first ( and hopefully not the last ) Mountain Biking specific Trail system in the city. The devo of this trail took alot of work ( on and off the trail ) from alot of people and groups. Thanks a ton to everybody that helped with this project.

The Tech shop Students of Wilson Jr High made a BIKE TOOL REPAIR STATION for the Camp Vits Trail. We will install this tool station this spring next to the Kiosk.

Shop teacher Clayton Ney lead the project with the students.

We also got a bench for the park that was donated by KAYSUN Corp. Nathan from KLEIN CUSTOM WOODWORKING made the bench.

Ribbon cutting, a speech or 2 and the repair station.

Ann Holson wrote a really good speech for the ribbon cutting.

and....Mountain Biking.

Thanks again to everyone that made this happen!!!!
